I've been doing a seriously huge studio reorganization these last few weeks. It was SO needed! Between two art retreats, a trip to Baltimore to visit some good friends, artsy projects and keeping up with the shop, my studio and guest room aka "The Annex" were in a very sorry state. There were bags, boxes and bundles stacked and stashed everywhere. I could hardly breathe when I walked into my studio! SO.MUCH.STUFF!
I'm so happy to say that things are looking way better. I might even say "normal." The floor is visible, I can see my table top and I can even get to the window to open the curtains. The diningroom aka "Shipping and Receiving" still needs some work but that's another project for another day. :-)
I could not bring myself to take a before picture of my studio before the big clean. I've seen some of those shows about hoarding and the room was starting to look like that. It was kinda scary. It was ridiculoulsy out of control. It's taken a lot of hours and lots of trips to SCRAP to donate stuff but I finally have the room organized and under control. I feel happy again going in to my room!
In addition to all the reorganizing and finding a home for everything, I had the chance to fiddle around with one of my current obsessions...Air Mail supplies! I am IN LOVE with the familiar red, white and blue! (Not the red, white and blue you were expecting, right?!) And hello...all the cool and fabulous graphics of the Air Mail logo over the years? Swoon and a half!
Some views of my collection...a drawer of vintage Air Mail goodness...
A collection of envelopes, some with the original letters of a service man to his stateside sweetheart...
Then there's the labels...this is the point where I go woozy...oh those labels!!! Heart heart heart!
The loose labels live in this little pouch...
My collection isn't limited to vintage items. I will love you even if you are a new Air Mail inspired product...
Are there are any other Vintage Air Mail lovers out there? If so, anyone interested in doing a Vintage Air Mail inspired Mail Art swap?
Happy Day to you!
Oh, all the air mail stuff is delicious! I don't have a collection myself but I sure love yours! Congrats on getting your studio organized -- I know EXACTLY how great that feels!

I know you adore that r, w and b stuff. I will think of you if I see some and grab it up.
Michelle, that Miranda has all the right stuff. I loved hearing about her and what she was doing. What a treasure she is! And a beauty.
I saw that you were teaching at Rachel Velder's and thought it looked wonderful. I hate my printing...can never seem to get anything I like and this, i do not "art journal." I don't draw either but I am talented at cut and paste ;-) I wish I would find I way as I like to write. I am proud of all you are doing and wanted to come and experience your teaching. If I learned to print nicely, I may be at one of your workshops someday.
We are all in South Dakota for a family reunion. Fireworks are legal and driving me crazy!!!
Big hugs to the Gellers!
