I just LOVE these purpley little ladies...
When they're blooming, they bring about a happy calm in me. I'm not necessarily a purple lover but I am most necessarily a purple iris lover! And they're right outside of our family room window so I can gaze at these lovelies any time I want.
The rest of the garden is making me pretty happy too. For example, these glorious columbines!
A little garden friendly tucked in a planter of chives...
My ginormous collection of ginormous sea glass. I bought all this a garage sale last summer.
This one is for Hope...hens and chicks. Oh how I adore these! These were started by one single little chick stuck in a crack by my daugther when we first moved into our house 14 years ago. :-)
Beautiful shades of green with a splash of blue forget-me-nots...
I'm hoping to give my garden some time and love this season. It's been very neglected for the last five years or so, aside from our raised vegetable beds.
I used to spend just about every waking moment in the garden. I'd be out there, on my hands and knees, planting and pruning, until 10:00 pm. I'd come inside only when I couldn't see anymore. But 14 years ago, I needed LOTS of escape. I needed to be in the garden. I had a very stressful job, my mother-in-law was living with us (although I'd do that all over again in a heartbeat!) and Miranda was a young adolescent.
Times have changed and I have a lot less stress these days. I guess the fact that my garden is neglected is an indicator that all is well in my world. :-)
My garden is being swallowed by weeds! We took care of the back yard a month ago or so, but the front yard is gone! Missing! No idea where it is!! ;) Hoping to find it this weekend... By the way, love all your little flower glimpses & I understand your once-upon-a-time need to escape... for some reason I too don't feel the urge as much any more either - hence the lost front yard I bet!

Those pink columbines are lovely - if they drop seed pods, will you have me some ? Our roses are peeking from their buds and for the first year, I'm expecting blooms from my peony. Isn't spring the best ? now if this northwest wind and rain would hold onto her hat so all the blooms don't fall over. . . love you girlie ! J.

Beautiful! You've inspired me.
Have you ever separated your irises? Mine bloomed sparingly this year and I'm not sure if I should take action.

It looks like even neglected that garden is putting out some beautiful blooms. I kill everything I touch, so I am in awe!

Michelle,
Thanks so much for directing me to this post! Wow! Ginormous is the word for your collection. I just started my obsession with sea glass a year or two ago when I happened upon the loveliest blue sliver on a beach not far from where I live (on Lake Erie); I started hunting around blogland and found some beautiful bracelets and necklaces that people had made with beach glass. I have a smallish crystal bowl filled with my treasures and I just love to look at it.
Kelly
ps...no, I absolutely cannot imagine anyone parting with beach treasures but, lucky for you that the gentleman does not share our obsession.
