Today was the 4th annual cookie baking party with a couple of my best buddies, Becky and her daughter Karen. They also live two doors down so getting together with them is real convenient! It worked out especially well last year since the day of our baking party was one of the days it snowed and snowed!
When trying to pick out what cookie I would make, I first thought of making chocolate chip cookies - my favorite! However, after coming across a recipe for Red Velvet cupcakes, I decided to try something different! I never made them before and thanks to a few friends from work that lent me mini-muffin tins and a cookie press, I was able to make some decent looking (and yummy tasting!) mini-muffins!
Here are a few pictures of our day...
Becky and I
Adding the food coloring...a whole bottle of red!
The batter before...
And the batter after...
The batter was SO red! It looked like ketchup when it was spooned it into the muffin tin...
So yummy! Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!
I love these! A new tradition has been born!
Lots and lots of 'em! I had plenty to share with my friends, enough to prepare a tray to take to work and I even took a tray of them to a Christmas party we went to tonight (#5 in case you're counting along with me!)
Okay...time to go wrap some prezzies. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get our tree...we are a bit behind in holidaying up the house this year. But we got cupcakes so it's all good!!! :-)
Those are SOOOOOO CUTE! RV is Jud's very favorite! I wonder if it is yours, too, Michelle, because I think you had one at the cupcake store we visited with you.
So nice to have a fun tradition and be able to have friends gifted, parties taken care of, one for you, one for Glen, another for you, some for your beautiful daughter....
YUM!

Perfection! My sweet man is making me red velvet cupcakes right this very moment. It made reading this post easier to take. Happy day to you!

Those look wonderful! It's so nice that you can get together with neighbors and bake. I finished my wrapping tonight, but have yet to bake a cookie. Tomorrow is the grocery store. I am buying ingredients for cookies and hold out great faith that I'll get to them!
Merry, merry!
