Okay...I have LOTS to share with you! My trip to Ashland was spectacular BUT I must first share with you the other thing kinda ruling my world right now.
Here is how I spent my 08/08/08...
Me before...
...and me after...
Yep. That's me with braces. Braces. I chose this particular "before" picture because you can see my teeth and the state of crookedness. Mind you, it's not horriifc and you may not have even noticed it but that one front tooth was migrating to the midline. Me no likey. I became very conscientious of it and caught myself starting to smile with my mouth closed. So I made the decision to get braces at age 48. Bad timing on my part because in prep for the braces, I had spacers put in the day before I left for Ashland. Those ached and I couldn't eat any solid food. There were no spots in my mouth where there was tooth to tooth connection. Part of my Ashland adventure was scouring the city looking for the spots that served soup. There was one Italian place that had great gnocchi that mushed up real well. The upside of all that hassle was that I lost three pounds while I was in Ashland.
I don't really have too much to complain about with these braces...so far they are just achey and I have a few sore spots inside my mouth from all the hardware. Laughing hurts a bit - I'm guessing from the wire being pulled. We went to see Wall-E last night (which was adorable BTW!) and my teeth ached a bit by the time we got home. I know it will get much better though. It has to!
So what are all those awful nicknames for people who have braces? I could only think of "brace face" and "metal mouth."
I'll be back soon to show all my Art in Ashland pix. See you later!
I hope your mouth is starting to feel less achy..........Hey maybe you are onto something...the Ashland soup diet! Love the blue rubber bands!!

You are so funny!
I relied on lots of dental wax from Walgreens and motrin! Blue suits you well!
