The house sure feels empty tonight. And it's not just because Miranda's off with playing with friends and Glen's out of town.
I'm lonely because I'm missing our dear sweet kitty, Tommy Boy. After 17 years, he was done and passed away yesterday evening.
Tommy was absolutely the sweetest cat. All he wanted was to be on your lap. Anyone's lap. He was an equal opportunity lap cat. He didn't care if he knew you, what you smelled like, what kind of day you had, or what you were doing. He just wanted to be on.your.lap.
So...I'm keepin' myself busy tonight...planted strawberries in a whiskey barrel...
...and replenished some herbs in another whiskey barrel. The chives, parsley, oregano and rosemary from last year are doing great! I added some dill and curry.
To distract myself I went for a walk, puttered around in the garage (preparing for a garage sale in a few weekends) and did the dishes. The other two kitties, Atticus and Bastian, are being supremely well behaved and super sweet so I'm sure they know something's different.
I have a feeling it's gonna be an early night.
I miss you my Tommy Boy.
My sincerest condolences to the passing of your beloved cat, Tommy. A dear family member that will always be in your heart and cherished memories that will lived on forever.

Losing a pet is hard, I hope you will be able to remember the fun times most.
The lap full of cat hair, the purring and the loving when nothing else works.

Oh Dear :( Bye bye, Tommy, you sweet guy. I'm so glad I got to know you.
Michelle, I can imagine the hole in your lives now that Tommy's moved on. Fill that hole with sweet remembrances and gratitude for the loving soul that he was :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your Tommy. We lost both of our cats last summer (both 17 years)... still not the same around here.
I saw a newscast about an abundance of kitties at the shelter near here...it really tugged at my heartstrings.
Maybe for Mother's Day.
Big hugs to you...

I am so sorry...so very sorry...
we just buried our cat Morris two hours ago...remember him? I posted a photo of him on my blog...
I found out at Art & Soul that he had been hit by a car...
I know how you feel and I know what you mean by lonely...i keep waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me it was all a bad dream...
Love,
Elise

I'm so sorry I did not know this until you told me...I hope Tommy is hanging out with Mookie somewhere at Catnip World. It gets better, but I don't know if it ever goes away completely. Maybe that's good.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. Those sweet animals just become so much a part of our families.......ah, but the memories of their unconditional love is something that we can keep in our hearts forever.
