Hi ho...another WONDERFUL Friday so you know what that means...Studio Friday! This week's topic is inspired by Dan: 3 WISHES!
If you had a magic wand what 3 creative issues would you solve? Maybe they are space issues that you are experiencing in your studio or issues about creating itself?
I've been thinking LOTS about wishes lately. Remember I showed you these wonderful wish coupons that I bought at Edgefield. Ever since I got these, I've been thinking about how, if I could, I would cash them in!
So if, truly, with a wave of a magic wand I could make three wishes come true, I know what they would be...I would burn all of my wishes on one thing and that would be m o r e t i m e.
I do have lots of time. I actually think I do a pretty good job of doing a lot with my allotted 24 hours I'm given each day considering I sleep about 8 or 9 of them. Work, school, family, friends, art, reading, Futurama, Stargate, Jon Stewart, blogging! :-) I even read and studied books about slowing down. In Praise of Slowness. Quiet Mind. Fabulous books and great tools that have helped me slow down which allows me to do more which, ironically, creates an illusion that I am SO busy. :-)
So really, the kind of time I'm talking about here is the "me time." Down time. Time to explore. Time to experiment. Time to tinker. Time to practice. Time to wander. Time to ponder. Time to just sit and think. Time to figure out my next steps to discovering my full potential.
I have set myself up so that I totally have a "next" mentality. I finish up one project and then move on to the next one. It's like I'm on a production line. Don't get me wrong...I'm having the time of my life! SO MUCH FUN! But I feel like I haven't had a chance to do anything just for me. That is the reason why I am taking this summer off. Not from work, of course, (but oh how I wish!) but from school - no classes, credit or non-credit! No nuttin'! Just fun in the sun! Lots of family and friends time, lots of getting ready for Art and Soul and Silver Bella (still on my wish list!) in the fall, and lots of ME art time!
So this summer, you can find me here...
In my little crafty space. I love being in here. I love it when no ones home and I can just go up to my room and putter around. I have a little stereo in there but lately, I like it quiet. Guess that's indicative of my being more in a "thinking" phase than a creating phase. The creating phase requires lots of music. John Mayer. Imogen Heap. Pete Yorn. Jeff Buckley.
Okay, I've done quite a bit of rambling here so if you've stuck with me, thank you and thanks for listening. Time to go have some fun! :-)
What a lovely studio you have! And it even has a feline artistic assistant :)
