So I didn't get near as much "art" time in today as I thought I would. Late morning after reading the paper and coffee, Glen and I went to work on my car and did a thorough cleaning of the inside (thanks again, honey!) Well, after that, we were going to drive it over to the car wash but then it wouldn't start! It had been hard to turn over this last week so this actually wasn't a big surprise but OH DEAR, I'm just SO thankful of the timing of when it completely conked out! Glen was home and we were in a "taken care of the car" mode. I wasn't in a dark parking lot, late at night, in the cold!
So with that all out of way, dinner done, we're now enjoying a cozy Sunday evening. In between watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, I've been playing around with my assorted artsy projects. I did; however, have to flat out stop what I was doing to watch the Kitten Half-time Show!
Okay, so I completed the "curiosity" prompt today of Cabinet of Curiosities that Kari and Bonnie are hosting. Bonnie just posted this week's prompt, "inspiration," over on her blog so that means I am now officially caught up! Yee-haw!!!
So here's curiosity.....
My goal for these "pages" is to NOT have them match. I am not taking into consideration the colors. I'm trying to do one as if it were going to stand on it's own. Each page has the prompt stamped on a label in the same font and that is the ONLY thing I want to be the clue that these pages belong in the same "book." I WANT that montaged, patchworked kind of look. I think I'm gonna get my wish! Here are the first four prompts stitched together...
Since I'm caught up, this week I MUST figure how I'm going to hang this. If I don't do that, I'll have to start standing on a chair to get the entire hanging in my camera's view finder!
I wanted to reply to a comment that Kari left asking what type of glue I was using for this and if I was using any other adhesive or fusible webbing. I'm not using ANY glue or type of adhesive. Everything is sewn on freestyle. Doesn't that sound like fun??? It really is! Here is what the back looks like...
I really love the look this technique is creating on the front of each page.
Okay, I'm off to go finish up my Circle Journal that Andrea is hosting! Right now I have Claudine's CJ. Her theme is "Back Where I Come From." Fun fun fun!
Amazing work. I absolutely love it all put together vertically. Good for you for free stitching it all.
