Well it's almost here! October 4 - October 9 is the Art and Soul Retreat! I'm SO excited. I am taking three jewelry-making classes. I have been packed and ready to go for about two weeks now. I EVEN have my swaps done! Here is a picture of how they it all came together.
I think they turned out pretty cute so I'm just hopin' other people will feel the same and will want to be my friend! :-)
So remember the carry case I bought at Value Village? If not, go here. It cleaned up okay. Still some dark marks on it. I applied two coats of varnish to restore some of the freshness that I inadvertently removed with the Bon Ami. Here's what it looks like now...
As I was removing the shoulder straps, they literally crumbled in my hands! Guess they were worn out! Since there were the extra holes in the sides from someone's FIRST attempt to make shoulder straps, I just took off all the remaining hardware and decided to not even try to replace them. To fill the holes I just super duper glued in some buttons.
It sure cleaned up all purdy like! I'm sure I'll add embellishments or stencils when the mood hits as I "wear" it over the next few years. :-)
So here is what the inside of the case looks like with all my yummy supplies in it! The tickets for my classes, vendor faire, and my beret (ooh la la!) are in the lid.
You can't see it very well but inside with all my supplies is my bits and bobs box. Sigh. This is the box that I pull out and pour over every once in awhile for no reason at all. Just full of sweetness that makes me happy. Findings. Geegaws. Whatnots. Thingamajigs. Chotchkes. Hoohaws. Gizmos. Gadgets. Whatchamacallits. Bits. Baubles. Buttons. Beads. I can practically meditate over this box. It just feeds and fills me so much!
That's all for now. Hope some sweetness finds it's way to you today!
Girl, you are just SO READY for Art and Soul! I wish there were room for me in the cute suitcase!

Hey, Michelle! I love your suitcase and it seems to be chock full of wonderment for Art and Soul -- you lucky duck! My good friend, Deryn Mentock is going to be there and she's going to meet some of our online friends -- intro yourself if you see her -- I think she'll be in jewelry-making classes, too. ""Sure wish I could stow away in your case and go with ya. Oh . . .also, I love your bits and boobs box. Oops! I meant bobs.
