I love these old windows. I love that distressed, weathered look. My good friend Becky recently helped her husband clear out their family's old barn. Apparently, there were several of these wonderful old windows just sittin' around and Becky ear-marked one for me! What a sweetheart!!! I am so tickled! While I love these old windows, I especially love it when they're REAL. They've had a life! So here's the window frame Becky gave me.
Needs a bit of clean up but not much!
And here's a window frame that is currently in our backyard hanging on the back fence. It was discarded by some former neighbors. It just sat on the side of their house after they moved out for the longest time. Guess no one else had their sights on this style of art. When I saw it, I said "Mine?" and so it was. When I got it, there wasn't any remnants of paint on it. Just old worn wood, with the sides barely together. I cleaned it up, repaired the frame, finished breaking out the glass shards, and then painted it.
Enjoy your evening and see you tomorrow!!!
Old windows are great. Steve has been talking about getting an old window and putting mirror behind it. Those look cool :)

ooh! ooh!
Now these frames get me excited. Shell, could a stained glass cutter and grinder be in your future?

Cool! We're in the market for new windows for our dining room---it's sporting a classy aluminum slider...just not cool in an old 1923 bungalow-esk home! Think my honey has ordered a pair of double-hung to replace it finally---we tried to find used, but no luck... I like how you use these cool old windows---want our aluminum slider when we rip it out? ;) "oh boy..." ;) (what were they thinking...!)
