Okay, so I'm sure you're tired of seeing my sweet Ella Posie purse but I HAVE to show it to you one more time! Reason being is because I found some fabric in the exact same pattern but a slightly different color. Check it out:
So you may be wondering where did I ever make this delicious score? One guess and if it was Goodwill, you'd be correct! Can you believe that??? There was one big piece, probably about three yards of folded fabric. And I paid all of $2.99 for it! I would venture guess that in a store, it would have cost a bit more than that. :-)
I also wanted to show you how far I've gotten with my rag rug. Last time I was over at my friend Jennifer's house, she showed me a few she had made. So cool. And she said the more you wash them, the softer and nicer they get. I wanted to start one but never even got around to even thinking about it! But then I saw that Lilli started one and that Hanna had one going. Well, bahhh! (sound of a copying sheep bleating!) I had to follow! I pulled out some cotton fabric I have had for, a-hem, 15 years? 20 years? Oh heck...forever! I bought this stuff thinking I'd make a hot pad thingy with cinnamon inside of it. That turned out to be a negatory good buddy on the Martha Stewart-notion (actually, this idea was PRE-Martha Stewart - take that Miss "It's a Good Thang!") Anywho, since this fabric needed a good home, I'm using it for the test run rag rug. Here she is:
The crocheting is going fine (all single crochet with an extra one thrown in every three or five stitches) but I do have two concerns:
1) that when I wash it, the red will run into the white. Hopefully, cold water and some white vinegar with help, and
B) my first rag rug will look like an ad for Target!!! I just may have to throw in some green and go for a holiday theme OR throw in some blue and go all-American!
Happy days to you and yours!
I just had a good cry over there and then I came here and you made me laugh out loud with your first rag rug and Target....don't worry about the fading. That's where some of the charm comes from in these rag rugs. I'm feeling like a sheep right now. Help me I can't add another project.

Wow, you did score w/those fabrics (it does look like exactly your bag, btw is so cute!) That's great that you and LIlli are so talented in making those rag rugs.
