This past Sunday, Glen and I flew out to Vashon Island. It had been awhile since I'd gone with him anywhere so thought this would be a good trip! And boy was I right! It was a little hazy from some local fires, but none the less, we had a wonderful day and I got in a few great photos!
This first photo is as we are just coming in over the Puget Sound. That's Mt. Ranier under the right wing. This view of the sound was utterly breathtaking!
Glen has a friend who lives on Vashon that he has known since Kindergarten. Maybe just grade school...but shoot...that's still FOREVER! Anyways, Julia is SO SO nice, gracious, kind, witty, funny, and lovely. And she's sassy!!! I can totally see why when Glen reconnected with her several years ago, he kept her! I didn't get to meet her husband Art this time. He's a sports columinst for the Seattle Post Intelligence newspaper and he was at a Mariners game "working." :-)
Here is Vashon with a hazy Seattle in the background.
And here is the Vashon Municipal Airport. The beautiful day, grass field and airplane hangers painted all different colors made this a photo op and a half!
So in addition to seeing this beautiful woman, island, weather, etc., you should see the house that Julia and Art built! Incredible! Marvelous garden too! Just makes me sigh with happiness and inspiration!
Whoops! Ill post more later...gotta go to an Excel class! Hope you have a great day!
How beautiful! It must be so freeing to rise above and leave your regular surroundings by air :)
