Hey there hi there ho there...
Wanted to share with you the projects that I submitted for this month's Just Johanna Rubber Stamp Design Team assignment. I am having SO much fun with this Design Team!
I played around a bit more this month and used Just Johanna stamps on some pages in my art journal.
I LOVE this page. First of all, it's a picture of my beautiful niece, Meagan. But also, I love this quote. It is from Ariel Gore's Atlas of the Human Heart. What an amazing book! This quote was particularly powerful because Miranda recommended this book to me and she told me she identified with Ariel. I feel like the quote is Ariel BEGGING, in this case, her boyfriend, to please be enough to keep her happy. To please be the thing that keeps her from jumping out of her skin. To please be the thing that keeps her from screaming. To please be the thing that keeps her on Earth. To please be the thing that makes her want to live. I can barely read it without tearing up when it's in this context for me.
The little bit of journaling around the picture reads: "Sometimes it's the little things that keep us happy and keep us connected."
So let's move on shall we???? TFL BTW.
Another page from an art journal. I originally wrote these words on a page with a picture of Glen's parents. They were married for about 40 years. They were utterly devoted to each other. I just got to thinking that Glen (and his two brothers) were the products of this love. That's why Glen is so devoted to me. That's why his love is pure and his heart, strong and true. That's all it knows. stamp here.
Feeling very in love and autumny with this one. Used Just Johanna "stems" rubber stamp and a "terra cotta" Adirondack colorwash. THOSE colorwashes are yummy! I'm trying to collect the whole set!
I HAD to make these. One my recent stamp acquisition is a little one called "whimsical frame." I love labels (I have a collection!) so I had to make some! I used large self-adhesive labels, painted a variety of backgrounds with Prang watercolors, stamped and then trimmed. I think they're SO cute!
On this card, I used the "paisley border" rubber stamp as well as the "whimsical frame" and "thanks ever so." The paisley was stamped with Making Memories acrylic paint and then I added a wash of watercolor.
You may recall I helped Becky and Karly out with making invitations for Karly's Bon Voyage party. We did postcards and so I was inspired with all the super French-theme to do this sweet little one.
And then I added some posttcard doodles. Isn't that little "star" stamp just the sweetest thing?!
And then I made a scrapbook page of my little grilley. I LOVE how this came out! The stamps are "circle dot background," "shrubbery," and "fabulous" and I used "bottle" Adirondack colorwash. And I love the photo of her matted Polaroid-style!
Well bless you if you've hung in there with me and made it this far. You got a lot of art and a whole lot of my innards with today's post! Thanks!
Okay, I'm off now to go make with the artsy action! I have a few days off of work and I'm rarin' to go!
WHOA!!! Art goodness going on over here!!! I love all of 'em esp. the one w/you and Glen, love that!
