I am so happy!
These last few years I've seen the posts around blogland from previous Art Nest retreats. The pictures were amazing. The projects were amazing. The people were amazing!
Well, this year I dreamed and schemed and it is finally MY TURN! :-)
If you've seen Julie and Candice's work, you know that every thing they create is perfection. So it makes sense that that every letter and number, every string and paper, every piece of fabric and ribbon that they lay down in the name of Art Nest, is done so with a level of detail and care that leaves you breathless. Everything. Case in point...the card I received confirming my registration...
It's just so cheerful!
And then last week, all the participants received a package wrapped in tissue and twine...
It's just so elegant. Inside the paper, a handmade portfolio wrapped in a rich, red jewel of a ribbon along with a sweet nugget of vintage millinery...
And then inside the portfolio was a visually-breathtaking presentation of information...
I've seen pictures of what these ladies have done at past Art Nest retreats so I am bustin' at the seams with anticipation of what is in store this round!
I have been thoroughly enjoying the process of pulling together supplies and treasures to take along with me on my adventure. I have also been happily working on some "tiny trades" to exchange with the other artists.
Of course Julie and Candice's work and Julie's "little kits" completely inspired my "tiny trades" for the event.
These are match boxes covered in fabric, twine and paint to become tiny treasure chests.
I won't give away what the tiny treasures inside are but here is a peek of the inside of the lid.
Oh and speaking of treasures...I thought I'd show the goodies I picked up at Amy's shop, Poppy and Ivy last weekend. It was her shop's 2nd Anniversary and it was lovely!!! She was even serving Mimosas and cupcakes from the fabulous Saint Cupcake! That girl knows how to throw a party! Congrats again to you Amy!
And while I'm showing Christmas goodness, check out these beauties...
Oh and one more thing...for all you locals...this weekend is BARGAIN HUNTING 101. A sure bet and a sure place to finds some great deals!!!! Several locals shops including collage will be there! Hope to see you there too!!!
Okay...that's it for now. Take care and thanks for stopping by!!!
