Blech...here it is a beautiful Saturday and I ain't feelin' so great. I stayed home from work on Wednesday, came home early Thursday, but went in yesterday and stayed the whole day. I really should have stayed home and so I'm paying for it today. Cancelled going to the movies tonight with our neighbor pals and even cancelled lunch and shopping at Poppy and Ivy and Collage with Miranda. You know a girl is sick when she cancels shopping at two of her most favoritest shops!
Fortunately, I am now fueled with a baked potato and Ruby Red Squirt (my ultimate comfort food when I'm sick) and can sit at the computer.
I've been meaning to share some pictures with you from Father's Day. It was pretty much a perfect day. Start to finish. I am so thankful that since Miranda has moved out, we are a happy family again. Glen and I met up with Miranda at Washington Park, had a pic-a-nic, and then caught the train into Portland to go to a Portland Beavers game.
Glen's brother and nephew were at the park too and came over to visit with us. Here's the nephew...
(Miranda's holding up an Animorphs book. She loves those things! I found a set of volumes 1 - 45 for her on eBay...they should be arriving VERY soon!)
After the game, we went back to Washington Park and Miranda led us on a hike.
Miranda led us to the top of the Highway 26 slide.
After our hike, we headed back out to Miranda's neighborhood, lunched at Mississippi Pizza (after finding Dala's and Horn of Africa closed) and then walked around the neighborhoods and alleys around Mississippi Ave. That neighborhood has such a "community" feel to it. People are exceptionally friendly. After starting up a conversation with a man along our walk, he invited into his backyard to see the progress on a treehouse he was building! I didn't take a picture of that. Some other cool pictures though...
You see a lot of this kind of fun stuff in Portland.
And then the coolest sign outside of the Rebuilding Center.
Do I dare tell you that when I read the sign, I was also secretly "proofing" it? Happily, they got all the right number of f's, m's, and r's. :-)
When we took Miranda home, we popped in to meet her new kitty, Bastian. Uh, he's pretty darn cute but I'll let you be the judge...
Okay, mama's fadin' here...time to go pick out a popsicle and crash on the couch. Maybe the first episode of the new Bruce Campbell series Burn Notice will be on On Demand and I can catch it again. If not, there's always this and this. :-)
