In one of the buildings downtown close to where I work, there is a space that has a new art exhibit each month. I had to go deposit a check and discovered the exhibit that ended April 20th. I sure wish I'd found it sooner.
It was an interactive exhibit where the walls were covered in these little 4 x 4 pieces of wood. They were attached to the wall with velcro. The deal was if you saw a piece you liked, you could take it but you had you make a new piece to replace it. Trades with a complete stranger! I LOVE this kind of stuff. VERY Yoko Ono. :-) There was a table with a few supplies so you could make the piece there or you could take it home. You just couldn't take anything until you had something to trade for it!
Here's a picture I took in the space.
Here are the two pieces I traded with.
This is one of the pieces I made...
The day I made this, I had been thinking a lot about the Virginia Tech shootings. My heart was SO sad. This was where I had to go to deal with it. I made a second piece but didn't get around to snapping a picture of it.
Oh but I have a picture of something else I made over 20 years ago!
She's just getting prettier and prettier every day.
